This role
The Legal Manager is responsible for ensuring legal services to all stakeholders, acting as a flexible resource for the legal team, supporting team members with expertise in legal matters such as intellectual property, employment law, marketing regulations, general commercial matters, corporate contractual obligations, drafting and reviewing contracts, supporting litigation, and complying with ever-evolving legal and regulatory standards related to financial compliance, licensing, and interaction with regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to optimize legal operations, reduce bottlenecks, and standardize processes by coordinating the legal team's tasks, facilitating collaboration between legal specialists, and ensuring an adequate response to business needs.
  • Serve as the point of contact for urgent matters or interdepartmental projects requiring immediate legal intervention.
  • Support the contracts team during peak periods by participating in the drafting and review of non-standardized agreements and advising on complex commercial disputes, especially those involving multiple areas of law or requiring strategic negotiation, contractual interpretation, and relationship management with key partners.
  • Manage day-to-day matters related to trademarks, licensing, and intellectual property asset protection, legal review of advertising campaigns, marketing contracts, influencer agreements, brand partnerships, and promotional materials, ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the LATAM region. Collaborates closely with Human Resources to address labor and organizational issues, including developing internal policies, drafting contracts and documentation related to employee termination, as well as handling labor disputes, investigations, and compliance with labor regulations in the various countries where the company operates.
  • Manages general legal issues such as supplier agreements, operating contracts, and regulatory matters, coordinating work with external counsel and overseeing the quality of services provided.
  • Supports corporate governance, entity maintenance, and the filing of regulatory requests.
  • Manages legal research and provides practical, business-focused legal advice on emerging issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting fast-paced business operations with practical, solution-oriented legal advice in legal departments of financial services in multinational companies, LATAM preferred.
  • Strong commercial legal background with ability to work across multiple practice areas.
  • In-depth knowledge of local financial regulations and global fintech regulatory trends.
  • Excellent project management and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team-based legal delivery.
  • Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills; ability to navigate ambiguity and build structure.
  • Strong interpersonal and executive communication skills, supporting cross-functional teams and working closely with non-legal stakeholders
