This Role
PayJoy is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager that will be responsible for the Business Development vertical in Mexico. In this pivotal role, you will lead the company's growth initiatives by identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and expanding our presence in the region. You will lead a team of professionals across three acquisition verticals: Digital Channel, Hunting Channel, and Key Accounts Channel. Additionally, you will lead and develop projects that drive growth at PayJoy, from the ground up. As our ideal candidate, you are a proven sales leader with a dynamic, ambitious, and proactive personality with a passion for sales, business development, deal closer and have deep understanding of the Mexican fintech and retail market.
You are results-driven and thrive in a dynamic, high-change environment focused on expanding PayJoy's business across Mexico. Your leadership, strategic vision, and ability to build strong relationships will be instrumental in driving the company's success and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Business Development team, identifying opportunities to optimize business models and processes to enhance operational efficiency and drive sustainable growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to accelerate the company's growth in the financial sector across various regions in Mexico.
  • Utilize market analysis and customer insights to identify untapped market segments and customer needs, tailoring products and services accordingly.
  • Direct and oversee the activities of the Business Development team, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to ensure alignment with company objectives and the successful execution of initiatives.
  • Create and oversee the end-to-end project management of strategic initiatives, from conception to execution, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation and timely delivery of results.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for PayJoy, representing the company at events, conferences, and networking forums to cultivate new partnerships and enhance brand visibility (Travel frequently).

Requirements

  • Minimum experience of 8+ years in any of the following areas: Business Development, Sales, Operations, Product.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and team management, including managing a team of direct reports and overseeing multiple acquisition channels.
  • Extensive experience in acquiring and negotiating complex agreements at the executive level.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Excellent strategic planning, project management and analytical skills with a data-driven approach.

Desirable qualifications

  • Ability to self direct your daily/weekly/monthly
  • Good organizational, prospecting and follow-up skills
  • Exemplary written and oral communications skills with ability to engage with a wide range of customer roles (C-suite & Executives)
  • Capable of managing all aspects of the sales cycle from cold calling prospects to negotiating enterprise-wide contracts
  • Be detail oriented, forming a deep understanding of the client’s strategies, objectives, operations, leaders, etc.
  • Successful influencer in matrixed and distributed (global/regional/market) organizations.
