Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Revenue Manager is a key Finance liaison for the Business Development and Legal teams in reviewing new business deals and arrangements for appropriate financial and revenue recognition considerations. In addition, the Revenue Manager will be playing a key role in ensuring revenue is calculated timely and accurately. The role is based at the Company’s headquarters in Redwood Shores, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a revenue team consisting of a Revenue Manager and several revenue accountants, both on-shore and off-shore, providing mentorship, feedback and guidance
- Facilitate and sustain a work environment that aligns with the company’s culture, fostering accountability, growth and a team approach
- Oversee billing and accounts receivable functions, ensuring that invoices are on time and accurate
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Product, Operations and other functions across the organization to streamline revenue data
- Responsible for the monthly revenue close procedures, ensure accurate results are delivered timely for reporting in accordance with US GAAP
- Assist with the financial statement close process by reviewing journal entries, reconciliations or other analysis as requested for professional services and other related non-recurring services
- Leading continuous review of processes and controls around revenue streams and identify improvements
- Ensure all revenue recognized meets revenue criteria consistent with ASC 606
- Be an ASC 606 subject-matter expert by researching and evaluating accounting positions
- Prepare audit-ready memos for revenue-related standard and non-standard contracts, 10Q/K if needed
- Participate in the deal review process from a finance perspective for all revenue-generating agreements and events such as professional services
- Partner with Business Development and Legal to ensure that new arrangements, projects, or partnerships maintain compliance with the Company’s revenue recognition policy and achieve the best interests of the Company
- Provide necessary revenue recognition inputs to the FP&A team so that the revenue forecast reflects any required GAAP adjustments.
- Build new processes to help the business scale and be a key point person for ERP (NetSuite) revenue module
- Review reports provided to Sales/ Operations prior to distribution
- Support audit deliverables and help coordinate with auditors during the year-end audit
- Calculate liquidated damages and accounts receivable reserve balances
- Responsible for account reconciliations and analysis
- Manage, mentor and develop junior staff members on the team, contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture with highest integrity and sense of ownership
- Assist with special projects needed by Management
Technical Skill Requirements:
- Licensed CPA required, Big 4 Accounting firm experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8+ years of work experience, including in a public company environment
- Experience in revenue recognition standard (ASC 606) is a must
- Knowledge and hands-on experience working with GAAP multi-element revenue recognition accounting standards including ASC 606
- Experienced in writing complex technical accounting position papers
- Experience managing and mentoring a team

- NetSuite and Salesforce experience preferred
The targeted base salary range for this role is listed in the compensation section below. Actual salary may be above or below this range based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. In addition, this position may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.
