About the Role:

The Financial Institution Partnerships team (currently 10 people) is a vital function to the continued success of Upgrade and is a great opportunity to work cross-functionally and entrepreneurially inside of a leading FinTech. We're looking for an enthusiastic and driven Analyst to join our fast-growing Financial Institutions Group in San Francisco to support the growth of our bank and credit union partnerships.

This team is responsible for strategic business development and partnership opportunities to expand Upgrade’s capital base and foster the launch of new consumer asset classes. You will be responsible for developing a best-in-class investor experience, developing new asset sales strategies and working cross-functionally to manage pre-close deal diligence, and post-deal closing relationship management. The ideal candidate will need to be an independent, proactive, high-achieving individual, able to stand out in an entrepreneurial environment and own complex processes with minimal oversight.

This role will be based in our San Francisco office in a hybrid capacity (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).

What You’ll Do:

  • Interface with C-level bank/credit union executives to get investors familiar with Upgrade’s products
  • Own strategic proposal process and outline Upgrade’s underwriting capabilities, digital acquisition strategy, company operations, and risk controls for prospective investors
  • Understand recent trends in FinTech and Marketplace Lending and communicate as such to active and prospective investors
  • Drive the creation of investor marketing and pitch materials for use across the team
  • Assist with a variety of activities related to the daily operations of the sales team such as data room management, CRM / Salesforce administration, lead acquisition, and relationship management
  • Guide financial institutions through the Upgrade Onboarding process which involves due diligence, operational/technical implementation, and legal negotiations
  • Develop and execute account management and cross-selling strategies for existing investor base
  • Work cross-functionally across Operations, Legal, Compliance/Credit & Analytics, and Technology teams to provide a best in class investor experience
  • Maintain and expand internal knowledge base for use across the Sales, Onboarding, Operations, and Account Management teams
  • Enable personal and compelling selling and account management practices


What We Look For:

  • 1+ years of experience in investment banking, client-facing role at a FinTech, or alternative capital markets experience
  • Familiar with consumer credit markets, financial markets & depository institution investment strategies
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to build relationships with investors and other external partners
  • Self starter and comfortable operating independently in entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills required
  • Experience with Hubspot, Salesforce, Jira / Confluence, SQL, and Tableau preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced environment and comfortable prioritizing critical issues

The compensation range of this position in San Francisco, CA is USD $90,000 - $100,000 annually plus equity and benefits. Within this range, an individual's base pay will be dependent on a variety of factors, including without limitation, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
