Role highlights:

  • Role: Missions GenAI Lead
  • Department: Strategy and Operations - Missions Line of Business
  • Location: Any ICEYE office in Europe
  • Reports to: Chief of Staff, Missions Line of Business
  • Employment type: Permanent
  • Working type: Hybrid (2-day remote policy)

The Mission of the role

In this role you will scale the Missions business through practical GenAI and workflow automation solutions that deliver measurable impact for our teams and customers, and strengthen our leadership of ISR from space.

As the first dedicated GenAI role within Missions, you will act as both builder, enabler and champion: creating AI-driven tools and systems, embedding the know-how across teams to adopt, adapt, and scale solutions independently, and making them part of everyday work.

Your work will directly accelerate ICEYE’s strategy to become the leading provider of space-based ISR infrastructure by 2030.

Who we are

ICEYE delivers space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. This includes sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE’s world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as access to data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation. These capabilities enable partners to detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy – day or night and in any weather, supported by ultra high-resolution imagery and high-frequency revisits.

As a trusted partner for defense, intelligence, security, and maritime domain awareness, ICEYE’s near real-time data creates a tactical advantage for mission-critical operations. Designed for dual use, the platform also serves civil protection and commercial users for natural-catastrophe intelligence, insurance, maritime monitoring (including oil-spill detection), and finance, contributing to global security and community resilience.

ICEYE operates internationally with offices in Finland, Poland, Spain, Japan, the UAE, Greece, and the US. The company has more than 900 employees, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.

Expected outcomes & competencies

Outcomes:

  • Deliver high-value GenAI and automation use cases within Missions, prioritizing identified opportunities where AI can create measurable impact within months
  • Develop existing and new prototypes to fully deploy GenAI-driven tools that reduce time-to-output for critical Missions workflows across sales and business development, program management, customer deliveries and support
  • Implement AI-enabled knowledge-sharing and workflow augmentation systems (e.g. in Google Suite, Slack, Confluence, prompt libraries, etc.) to help teams self-serve and to accelerate daily tasks
  • Coach and enable teams to adopt and adapt GenAI tools, embedding “teach to fish” practices through ‘show-and-tell’ demos, playbooks, and ongoing support
  • Achieve >80% adoption and satisfaction score of Missions team members in GenAI tools within 6 months
  • Provide feedback to ICEYE GenAI infrastructure and tooling implementation
  • Continuously scout, test, and deploy best-in-class GenAI solutions (commercial, open-source, and custom) and scale successful ones into our operating model

Role-specific competencies:

  • GenAI fluency: Hands-on expertise in GenAI tooling and concepts with sufficient coding skills (LLMs, agent frameworks, vector databases, scripting, low-code / no-code platforms and integrations)
  • Real-life value creation: Passion and proven track record in designing and deploying GenAI tools and concepts in real-life workflows
  • Change leadership: Ability to drive adoption by partnering with teams and enabling others to sustain usage
  • Strategic execution: Skilled in prioritizing, prototyping fast, and scaling initiatives to support business strategy and objectives, demonstrating business acumen
  • Security awareness: Strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance in deploying AI/automation in sensitive contexts
