Built originally for Kubernetes, Cast AI goes beyond cost and observability by delivering real-time, autonomous optimization across any cloud environment. The platform continuously analyzes workloads, rightsizes resources, and rebalances clusters without manual intervention, ensuring applications run faster, more reliably, and more efficiently.
Headquartered in Miami, Florida, Cast AI has employees in more than 32 countries worldwide and supports some of the world’s most innovative teams running their applications on all major cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. Over 2,100 companies already rely on Cast - from BMW and Akamai to Hugging Face and NielsenIQ.
What’s next? Backed by our $108M Series C, we’re doubling down on making APA the new standard for DevOps and MLOps, and everything in between.
About the role
Designing for Cast AI goes beyond visuals — it’s about solving technical challenges and understanding how the backend works. Our platform serves DevOps, FinOps, ML engineers, SecOps, and developers, so technical awareness is key. You’ll dive into complex systems and make them more accessible through clear, thoughtful design.
We’re looking for a Senior Design System Designer to help us build a fast, flexible, and future-ready design system. This isn’t just about reusable components — it’s about creating a system that’s structured, clean, and ready for automation, AI integration, and design-to-code workflows.
You’ll work closely with engineers and product designers to ensure the system scales with our growing product and team. Our product design team works in an agile setup, where each designer leads an area of the Cast AI Console. We value collaboration, open brainstorming, and close communication. If you’re excited about making design better, faster, and smarter, we’d love to have you on board.
Requirements:
- 4+ years working on or building design systems as part of a product design team
- Experience with complex tools and systems
- Strong Figma skills — including components, variables, tokens, and libraries
- Comfortable working with developers and understanding how design connects to code
- Experience using or experimenting with AI tools in design work
- Familiar with accessibility, responsive design, and creating components that work across devices
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Able to work independently and take ownership of big parts of the system
- Proficient in written and spoken English
Portfolio Requirement
Please include a portfolio with your application that showcases your experience working on design systems. We’d love to see examples of component libraries, documentation, or processes you’ve helped build or improve. If you’ve used AI tools or automation to streamline design work, be sure to highlight that too. Bonus points for showing how you’ve worked with engineering teams to bring systems to life in real products.
