Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team! This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who is committed to overseeing the entire sales cycle for both our B2B SaaS and Consulting Service branches, while executing strategies and providing guidance to enhance the effectiveness of our sales team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for relationship-building, both internally and externally, ensuring that our products and services reach as many businesses as possible. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, executing Arbor’s sales strategy, and enhancing the customer experience with our platform.

What you will do:
Manager /Leadership Responsibilities:
- Champion Company Strategies: Lead the implementation of company strategies while actively contributing ideas for refinement with Arbor's Leadership team. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize the success of sales strategies.
- Drive Market Research Initiatives: Take ownership of conducting thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and emerging sales trends. Collaborate proactively with leadership to ensure that business development efforts are strategically aligned with overarching company goals.
- Lead and Inspire a High Performance Team: Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals. Cultivate and ensure a culture of teamwork, collaboration and commitment to excellence.
- Enhance Team Competence: Provide training and continuous guidance to your team members, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles and achieve company objectives.
- Develop and Enforce Sales Process: Take full ownership of our sales processes. Ensure compliance and adherence among all team members and departments, maintaining high standards of operational efficiency.
- Set and Evaluate Team Goals: Collaborate with Arbor’s Leadership to define clear objectives and KPIs for the team, regularly assessing performance to ensure targets are being met and identifying areas for further growth and development.
Business Development Execution:
- Demonstrate Resolute Motivation: Demonstrate a high level of motivation to not only meet but exceed sales targets, exhibiting a proactive approach to capture business opportunities.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Manage leads through the sales pipeline, from initial contact to closing deals.
- Drive Contract Efficiency: Collaborate with our legal team to deliver and execute on contracts efficiently.
- Implement Diverse Lead Generation Strategies: Use various sales strategies - such as networking, cold calling, emailing and other channels to proactively generate and nurture leads.
- Cultivate Strong Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as partners, clients and industry influencers, and provide accurate and relevant information on Arbor’s products and services.
- Deepen Product and Market Insight: Achieve a comprehensive understanding of our software platform and data sources, working closely with dev and data teams to tailor effective sales approaches.
- Accurately Address Client Needs: Assess the client’s needs and requirements, promoting suitable Arbor products that address their specific pain points.
- Master Regulatory and Market Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of carbon emissions regulations, compliance requirements, and global markets to inform sales strategies.
- Provide Insights on Competitors: Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity, and continuously provide feedback to Arbor’s leadership team for further refinement.
- Enhance Customer Satisfaction: Actively manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.
What you bring:
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach, ability to work independently and within a team setting.
- Ability to navigate and thrive in a rapidly changing startup environment, exhibit flexibility and a positive attitude towards evolving business needs.
- Exceptional team player and collaborator.
- At least 4 years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, with a proven track record of revenue growth.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably at a fast-past, emerging technology start-up.
- Success with identifying, building, and growing sales channels.
- Be a go-getter - you aren’t afraid to get in front of people and pick up the phone to close a deal.
- Experience managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities.
- Proven track record in monitoring and evaluating sales progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectations and KPIs.
- Willingness to travel to global events and conferences for networking, identifying, and meeting with potential sales prospects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Persuasive speaking and writing skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory climate landscape considered an asset.
